Questions before you start
What is Hostberg?
Hostberg is simple property management software (a PMS) for small and independent properties. It keeps reservations, the calendar, guests, housekeeping, payments and reports in one place.
Who is Hostberg for?
Small hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, serviced apartments, villas and vacation rentals, from a single villa to around 30 rooms. It's made for owners and managers who run the property themselves, often with a small team.
Is Hostberg a PMS?
Yes. A property management system is where you run the day-to-day: bookings, rooms, guests, cleaning and payments. Hostberg is a deliberately simple one. It isn't a channel manager or an online booking engine.
Does Hostberg connect to Booking.com?
Not through a direct connection. You can paste a room's Booking.com calendar (iCal) link. Once a day, or whenever you press "Sync calendars now", Hostberg adds those booked dates to your calendar as blocked dates. Guest details and prices aren't included, and nothing is sent back to Booking.com. You can also fill in a booking from a Booking.com confirmation PDF.
Does Hostberg connect to Airbnb?
The same way: paste the listing's calendar (iCal) link and its booked dates come in once a day, or on demand. Vrbo works the same. Guest details are added by hand, and nothing is pushed back to Airbnb.
Do I need a channel manager?
Not to use Hostberg. If you sell rooms on several booking sites and need availability and prices updated everywhere automatically, you'd need a channel manager alongside Hostberg. It doesn't do that. Many small properties simply add each booking as it arrives.
Can I manage multiple properties?
Yes. One login holds as many properties as you run, and you switch between them in a click. Each property is $19, paid once.
Can I manage apartments instead of hotel rooms?
Yes. Each apartment is a unit with its own bookings, cleaning status and payments, and room types can be anything: "1-bedroom apartment", "Garden villa", "Double room".
Can my manager or staff use it?
Yes. Invite staff by email and give each person a role, so a cleaner sees the housekeeping board but not your payments.
What does it cost?
$19 per property, paid once. There's no subscription, no per-room fee and no setup fee. Payments are final, see the refund policy for details.
Can I give guests an invoice?
Yes. Open any booking and Hostberg builds the invoice for you, with your logo, address, contact details and tax number at the top. It lists each night, shows tax separately, and has room for one off extras like a late checkout. You can bill a company instead of the guest, then print it or save it as a PDF. Invoices are numbered in order for each property.
Is there a free trial?
Not at the moment. The live demo shows a sample dashboard with realistic bookings, and you can email us any question before you pay.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No. Hostberg runs in your web browser on a laptop or phone, nothing to install. If you can use email, you can use Hostberg.
Can I import existing reservations?
Yes. Bulk import takes a spreadsheet (CSV) of bookings and guests, shows you a preview, and lets you fix anything unclear, like mixed-up date formats, before anything is saved.
Is my data stored securely?
Your data lives in a managed database that is encrypted at rest and reached only over HTTPS. Each account is isolated at the database level, staff permissions limit who sees what, and reports can be exported to CSV whenever you want them.
